The Shadow Prince by Stacey O’Neale

I liked Rowan. He’s hilarious, witty, loyal, strong and perfect, literally.

I think this book is an example of what prequels are supposed to be, it was a great introduction to a series and gave the reader a perfect does of what to expect while leaving them wanting more. The sneak peak of Mortal Enchantment at the end of the book was perfect. Even if I do hate cliffhangers. It left the plot set up for a punch.

The time transitions were a little rough, but the book itself was so thought out and so well written. The characters were also great.

Touchstone of Love (A Time Travel Romance) by Beth Baran

OK, first I’d like to start by saying that I truly enjoyed this novella!

Although a bit short (it is a novella, after all) it was well paced and well thought out.

This book was given to me in exchange for an honest review.

So here we go,

This story starts out with the main character missing her flight to Edinburg, Scotland. Rose is very much a modern woman and when she finally makes it to Edinburg she gets sent back in time when she is caught in a storm while sightseeing cathedrals…(it kind of reminded me of Back to the Future, i.e. the lighting) anyway…

The only problem I had with the book was that Rose was a bit, shall we say, too forward in trying to seduce her male counterpart (Julien).

And although the novella is short and there are parts of their relationship that are a bit rushed, it made sense in that love can happen at any moment no matter the time or the circumstances that you are in.

And when Rose and Julien finally make it to the altar, she gets sent back to her own time….and therein lies the twist….will they get back together?

A solid 4 out of 5.
